Devon's Children in Care nursing team

Children and Family Health Devon

The children in care nurses team (who are a part of Children and Family Health Devon), are here to help make sure that you’ve got all the information and guidance that you need when it comes to your health needs.

They provide a service for all care-experienced young people in Devon, whether you’re currently in care or are a care leaver. They’re also there for you if you are care of Devon County Council but who currently live outside of Devon, or if you’re in the care of another local authority but live inside Devon.

So what do they do? Well, the team carry out your annual health review, and they can also supply you with a health passport – a really handy, small book that allows you to store all your health information in one place. On top of that, they can provide you with lots of useful information and guidance on health issues and how to access certain services as well.

If you want to get in touch, you can call our Children in Care Nurse team via the Single Point of Access on 03300 245 321, or email

Healthtalk answers some of the questions that perhaps you may not want to ask your doctor. They help you to realise that other young people are going through the similar experiences and that you’re not alone.
