Ella went to Birmingham for a youth justice leaders summit

Last week Ella went to Birmingham for the youth justice leaders summit! ⚖️

She went alongside John James, Devon’s service lead for youth justice, and Naomi, a youth justice advisor.

The aim of the day was exploring how we can help fewer children end up in custody and finding better ways to support them.

We also met Martin Pratt, who is a Youth Justice Board member and chair of the Reducing Remand Panel, and the whole event gave us a chance to talk together, listen to young people’s experiences, and come up with ideas to make things better ♥️

Naomi said, “It was a really informative day and felt like very important issues were discussed with some really good insights into these topics. It was great to be there as a youth advisor, and it will be great to see more young people driving change in the future.”
