We spoke to the national advisor for care leavers – Mark Riddell!

Today, Mark Riddell, the National Advisor for Care Leavers, visited Devon to check on the progress that has been made since his visit to us this time last year.
As part of his visit, Mark spoke to three members of Stand Up Speak Up to get their views about what life is like for care leavers in Devon. We talked about how housing remains the top issue for care leavers in Devon and the difficulties that young people face when looking for accommodation. But there was also acknowledgment that work is being done to address the quality and quantity of housing options. The young people were also happy with the introduction of the Therapeutic Wellbeing Service, which they hope will bring about improved support for mental health.
