Here’s a quick round up of some of the things we’ve been helping out with recently. Thanks to everyone who’s got involved! 😀
Health and Wellbeing Board
On 13 April, Emily and Luke from our SUSU council presented the summary from the Youth Voice Saturday on mental health to the Health and Wellbeing board at County Hall.
They discussed the commitments already made by some service areas and made suggestions of areas needing more exploration.
The board were very impressed and asked several questions to ensure they understood what young people across Devon needed. We already have an invitation back to the meeting in 9 months so young people can discuss progress and make some more suggestions. This will ensure accountability in service areas and allow room to recognise the progress made.

Interview panel to find Devon’s new Director for Children’s Services
On 9 May we interviewed for the role of Director for Children Services, where we quizzed the candidates and marked them on their behaviours. Big thanks to Luke, Teddi and Shariff for being on our youth panel.

County Show
Thanks to James and Shariff for helping out on our stall with Fostering Devon at the Devon County Show! We had a fab day! We met lots of animals🐑 🐄🐖🦙, learnt some Arabic and got to try our hand at DJ 😎. There was also lots of free cake and treats and the reward of ice cream for our hard work at the end of the day 🍦
