Ange and Vikki sat down and had a chat about an important project that we’ve been working on – Growing Futures!
The Growing Futures project has been developed to address some of the important issues that you have been raising, such as being moved frequently as children in care, not having good enough housing both before and after 16, and not having clear enough housing and move-on plans.
Growing Futures will enable more homes in Devon for young people to stay, making sure there are enough foster family and need-based residential homes. They’re also making sure that 16+ housing is right for you and can supply you with everything you need to move on into independence when you’re ready.
We need to make sure that this project keeps reflecting your priorities. So, if you are care experienced and would like to get involved in improving homes and housing for young people in care and leaving care, then do get in touch with us!
There are lots of aspects to this multi-million-pound project that you can have your say in: Improving fostering, residential homes in Devon, a therapeutic school, homes for 16-18’s, supported housing and move-on housing.
