The General Election is coming up, here’s how to vote!

The UK General Election is coming up! Here’s some key advice on different ways you can vote!

The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, 18 June. When registering, you’ll need your National Insurance Number, Passport number, and your home address. You can register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

A postal vote is where you send your vote in by mail. The deadline to apply for a postal vote is Wednesday, 19 June. You only need to be eligible to vote to vote by post. You don’t need a reason. You can apply for a postal vote online at www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote.

A proxy vote is when you let someone else vote for you. The deadline to apply for this is Wednesday, 26 June. You can only apply for a proxy vote under certain conditions: if you are away on polling day, if you are a registered overseas voter, if you have a medical issue or disability, or if you are unable to vote in person because of work of military service. You can apply for a proxy vote online at www.gov.uk/apply-proxy-vote.
