Care day was a blast – take a look at what we got up to!

Care day 2024!
Today is Care Day 2024, the world’s biggest celebration of children and young people with care experience!
This year’s theme for Care Day is ‘I am what I choose to become’ – showing that care experience doesn’t define who you are. We rounded up people all around to show their support and celebration of Devon’s Care experienced people by writing ‘#Careday2024’ on their hand! We also talked to young people themselves to ask what a goal for their future is!
Starting off, Devon’s Chief Executive, Donna Manson, is keen to remind all of our care experienced young people that adversity does not define you, it shapes you. Devon County Council want every child in Devon to have the best outcomes, and we’re working hard to make those ambitions become a reality.
If you’re care experienced or you’re working in the care area, be proud!

Roundup
We cooked food, played, danced, and partied, all to celebrate care day – celebrating children in care and care leavers!
A big portion of you also helped Julian with how to make a good care plan!
It was great to see so many faces join us!
