Bethany House

- The aim is for tenancies to end around 2 years in, although this is very flexible and not a rule
- No pets officially, although open to discuss small pets on case to case basis
- Can’t take anyone with a history of sexual or violent crime
- Can’t have anyone over 5 months pregnant
- Male guests need a informal police check before they can enter the building
- No overnight visitors
- Smoking and Alcohol allowed in own rooms, unless under 18
- At 3am, the doors to the building are locked, but you can call and come in later
- Laundry is washed for free
- Staff are available Monday – Sunday 9am-10pm.
- The aim is for individual and communal support, with group activities scheduled most weeks.

- Lots of support available from staff 24 hours a day
- Large communal areas
- Guests allowed, but need to discuss with staff and sign them in and out. No overnight guests.
Young Devon Supported Lodgings

- Very Homely due to actually being someone’s homes
- Own room, shared all facilities.
- Hosts can vary in every way as they are anyone who has been accepted to Host.
- There are four ‘levels’ of support a young person might need, and each hosting placement can cater to these.
- 5 hours a week of support funded to the hosts, but this can go up to 19.5 hours.
- Lots of support around finances and emotional wellbeing
- Any aggression or destruction of property is immediate eviction
- Room must be kept clean, although it is a clear rule that without notice no one can go into another bedroom.
- Guests are very unlikely but it depends on the guest and the host.
- If young person is taking substances or drinking they must find alternate accommodation for the time they are intoxicated
Young Devon Supported Housing

- Own room, shared all facilities.
- Monks road placement is Medium support, all the other placements are low support.
- Staff are available during working hours at monk’s road, but contactable by telephone from other placements. Sleep in overnight staff
- Support around practical skills, such as cooking or using public transport.
- Guests are allowed until 10pm, they must sign in and out. There is a set of Guest rules.
- No Drugs, alcohol is not permitted at monks’ road.
- No smoking or vaping inside, but there is a garden area.
- Very independent living.

- Several ‘stages’ with different levels of support. Highest level of support is stage 1
- Stage 2-3 is a shared house
- Stage 4 is an independent flat
- Moving through the stages is achieved by evidencing at the previous stage, such as finding a work placement and budgeting.
- Lots of support around finances and emotional wellbeing

- Very relaxed environment with staff able to support with most things.
- A bit away from Exeter City, but very easy bus route.
- Industrial style kitchen, lots of space for everyone
- Small peaceful town environment
- Alcohol allowed in rooms, and smoking allowed outside
- Guests allowed, although none overnight
Exeter City Community Trust

- Several Different houses across the city
- Assessment prior to move in to establish good fit for property moving into
- Not affordable if only on basic UC, affordable for young people with PIP or working
- Limited support 1 – 2 hours a week
- Guests are allowed and no curfew
- No overnight guests
- Because there are so many placements under ECCT it is hard to specifically describe the building a young person is placed in. This placement is very similar and close to an independent rental, but also gives some support for help with move on or finances.

- Guests are allowed
- Some CCTV covers entrances and the car park.
- Staff are here from Monday – Friday 9-5 and mostly assist with budgeting advice or move on help.
Julian House Trainer Tenancies

- Borderline fully independent living
- £800pm if working, £80pm if not working, although you are required to work or be in education.
- 18+ only as so independent and living with another person
- Own bedroom, all other facilities shared
- Fully furnished, tenants are advised to bring very little with them
- The aim is for tenancies to end around 2 years in, although this is very flexible and not a rule
- Guests are allowed at the discretion of the other flatmate, disputes around this are discussed with staff
- No pets
- No smoking indoors, although there is a large communal garden
- Free street parking
- Staff are available Monday-Friday with an emergency line available at weekends and will give support around work or education placements.
- This accommodation is best for people who are so close to being able to experience real private rental, but need some rental history before this.
Alexandra House

Amber Foundation

- There is daily structure and cooking rotas. All tasks are completed as a group, there is a large amount of support available. With 6 staff during the day and 2 overnight, there is always someone to talk to if tenants are struggling.
